Location: London, United Kingdom
Cuisine: Japanese
One of my first nice dinners in London, Sticks’n’Sushi will always have a special place in my heart. Victor took me here for my birthday and I fell in love (with sushi haha).
Sticks’n’Sushi is a Copenhagen-based ‘chain’ that does Japanese cuisine. They focus on sushi (obviously) and yakitori sticks. Up until this year they only had restaurants in the Greater Copenhagen area and the UK (five in London). A new restaurant has opened in Berlin!
We went to the location in Covent Garden and it was perfect. The menu is spectacular. They present a menu ‘card’ which is almost like a photo album. From the bites menu we picked Jerusalem Artichoke, Ebi Bites, and Seaweed Salad. It is easy to overwhelm yourself with all the options! For the main course we had the impressive Maki Maki menu. It consists of 8 of 4 types of sushi: Salmon Ceviche, Hell’s Kitchen (tempura shrimp), Ebi Panko, and Shake Aïoli. All conveniently pescatarian! My favourite is definitely the Hell’s Kitchen — that BBQ sauce!
I was so incredibly full, but as it was my birthday, I got dessert. You have several options. You can pick one, pick three, or do the taster menu. I opted for three: Yuzu Sorbet, Cheesecake, and Matcha Mochi Ice Cream. My favourite was the matcha ice cream because I love matcha so much! Latest obsession for sure.
So yes, Sticks’n’Sushi is my favourite sushi place in London, so go ahead and check them out!
